Developing new-quality productive forces meets the need to remove economic strait jacket and unleash productive potential. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 and particularly since the introduction of reform and opening up in the late 1970s, China has endeavored to release and develop productive forces and adjust relations of production to drive social productivity. These efforts have enabled China to rise as the world’s second largest economy in a short period of time and achieve an unprecedented economic miracle and enduring social stability. Today, as we push forward with Chinese modernization for the sake of national rejuvenation, unleashing and developing productive forces remain the fundamental task.
