【遣词造句用英语】语法连载

across, over 和 through

1. 表示处于或到达另一侧：用 across 和 over

across 和 over 都可用来表示“处于或到达一条线、一 条河、一条路、一座桥等的另一侧”。

His village is just across / over the border.
他的村子就在边界那边。

See if you can jump across / over the stream.
看你能不能跳过这条小溪。

2. 涉及高的东西：多用 over

表示“处于或到达一个高的东西的另一侧”， 多用 over。

Why are you climbing over the wall?
你爬墙头干什么?
(不能说：.... across the wall? )

3. 表示平地：多用 across

如果表示“处于或到达一片平地或平面的另一侧”，多用 across。

He walked right across the desert.
他步行穿越了整个沙漠。

It took them six hours to row across the lake.
他们花了六个小时划船过湖。

4. over ( to ) 用作副词

请注意：用作副词的 over 比用作介词的 over 含义更广。表示短途旅行常用 over ( to )。

I'm going over to John's.
我要去约翰家。

Shall we drive over and see your mother?
我们是不是驱车去看望你的母亲?

5. across 和 through

across 和 through 的区别，与 on 和 in 的区别相似。用 through 时，表示移动是在三维空间发生的，四面八方都有东西，across 则不同。试比较：

We walked across the ice. (We were on the ice. )
我们从冰上走了过去。

I walked through the wood. ( I was in the wood. )
我走着穿过了树林。

We drove across the desert.
我们开车越过了沙漠。

We drove through several towns.
我们开车穿过了好几个镇子。
