Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Google’s rise is that it is
almost entirelyattributable tohaving the best technology. That sounds like it should be thenormal state of affairs, but in truth there are an untold number of research projects andstartupsthat had superior technology but never becameviable businesses; perhaps there was no business model, or aninabilityto build arequisite ecosystem, or most commonly, aninabilityto find aviablemarket and/or reach consumers who might be interested.
