The pie charts compare five aspects in household spending in UK and New Zealand in the year from 1980 to 2008.
It is noticeable that UK spent most of their money in leisure activities which increased from 27% in 1980 to 34% in 2008. Expenditure in Utility bills and transport remained steady over 28 years, while the expense in Food and drinks dropped significantly by 10 % during the same period of time.
Different from UK, New Zealand people spent higher proportion of fortune in Food and drinks in 1980, only with slightly decline by 4% in 2008. Leisure activities expenditure contributed the lest proportion in 1980 but has been doubled to 17% in 1980. Utility bill increases a bit to the most important cost in New Zealand family in 2008.
To sum up, compared to UK family, New Zealand family will spend more money in the field of Food and drink and Utility bills and result in less proportion in leisure activities cost.
