绘本讲师训练营【15期】4/21 《Where is the green sheep》by Judy Horacek
During the last three days reading, I’ve noticed my son’s interests was animals, so I chose 《Where is the green sheep》last night. At the very beginning, I didn’t have too much expectation about my son’s concentration on this book, but as we took out the book, his eyes shined, I knew what I thought before was completely unnecessary.

My son knew this was a book about sheep and said it in Chinese. This book was about the sheep doing many kinds of things. When I read the 3rd page, he knew the sheep was reading a book on the bed. In order to keep the kids curious, when I read the sentence “but where is the green sheep”, I really need to adjust my age to a kid like I really didn’t know to arouse my son’s interests, and it worked. My son particularly like what the sheep doing, like playing the swing、the slide、and also curious about why did the sheep played the slide with the sled. His eyes was full of curiosity and kept asking questions, and also sharing some same experience like the band sheep, coz he liked to play ukelily at home. I thought this was the connection between kid and the book, amazing! And also we could review something he liked, as I read the rain sheep, he noticed the muddy puddles right away and told me happily. When we read the train sheep, he recognized the animals one by one, at last he counted the animals numbers, and saw there were 2 empty seats on the train, he said it quite seriously which made me so happy. When we read the wind sheep, he didn’t know the wind, but he knew the sheep was flying a kite like he did before, I said the kite need the wind to fly into the sky. When we turned to the page about the outer space, he stayed at that page for a long time, mainly focus on counted the numbers of the planets and stars. What my son most like was the page many sheep showed up doing playing different things, he was completely adsorbed this page. And at last, when I turned to the last page, he really knew that was the green sheep.

And at the end, when he read the back page, he kept saying the blue sheep was taking the pink sheep’s hand in Chinese, and that was enough coz I knew this had already attracted him.
