Well to be honest,there are not really that many speeches I’ve heard which I can remember in much detail.Butone talk that did leave a particularly deep impression on mewas by Li Kaifu, who is one of the most accomplished and respected people here in China,which is why I made the effort tolisten to what he shared.
And I listened to his speech at home on my computer, becauseI haven’t been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to hear him speaking live yet, so I basically just found a video on Sina weibo. But anyway, as for what his speech was about, well it was 3 years ago when I heard it, so I can only remember bits of it,in a nutshell, it was basically aboutsuccess andhow we can go about achievingit. And so in his speech, heoutlined a few things that we can doif we want tolead a successful and fulfilling life, which most of us do of course!
For example,one thing he touched upon washow we should all follow our dreams,instead of simply doing what other people expect of us.And hearing this from Li Kaifu himself really made me believe in the truth of that statement, becausehe’s speaking from experience.Andhe also went on to explain thatmany other successful people alsoattribute their success to the fact thatthey pursued their dreams.
Finally,with regard towhy I thought the talk interesting,well to put it simply, I thought one important thing was that he used a lot of stories. So I mean, even though his talk went on for over an hour or so, I didn’t feel bored at all listening to it, and in fact I even made a mental note that, if I ever have to do any public speaking myself in the future, I’ll also try to include a few stories,like Li Kaifu did.
So yeah,that’s pretty much everything I can remember about it.
2 Countryside Experience

It was two years ago when I had my very first motorbike trip with my friends to the first and most ancient village which is located in the Southern China. It is an unforgettable trip that I’ve ever had.
Our group had 3 people, Jack, Jenny and me. We chose to visit that village because we wanted toget away from the hustle and bustle of the cityandget off the beaten track.Moreover,I felt really excited to visit the village and get a closer insight intothe lifestyle of local people.
Weset out for a day trip to date back to the tradition of our countryreally early. I’m always a night owl, not a early bird, so leaving the city at 5 a.m made me feel like I was deprived of sleep. However, I wasdeliriously happyshortly afterembarking on the tripto the village. This was because on the way to get there,we admired the breathtaking landscapeswhich is totally different from the city we are currently living in. After 1 hour drive, we got to thepicturesque villagewhich made me feel over the moon. We rented some bikes to cycle around the village with a lot of small alleyways filled with green grass.After riding a bike to the paddy field tofeel the vibesof the village,we visited some 400-year-old ancient houses which made of mud and laterite and had a look at communal houses where the local people gathered for festival celebration or public meeting. The highlight of the trip to the village was going to the paddy fields to help the farmers harvest the crop. It was such anonce-in-a-lifetime experiencewhich I really enjoyed.
That was our first motorbike trip tothe outskirt of the cityand first time in the countryside so we really enjoyed every single moment there. We relished everything in the village from the fresh air, cozyambianceto beautiful landscapes. We very much hope that we can embark on a longer trip to the countrysidedown the roadif we have more spare time.
3 Change

I have completed my graduation only a few months ago and within the three months of my departure from the university, I started working in a company. My new job and my lifestyle changes due to that job is very recent and in my opinion pretty significant as well.

Besides, now I enjoy economic freedom and that’s a major change as well.
4 Happy marriage

OK, well the first married couple that came to mind when I saw this topic weresome neighbours of mine, becauseas far as I know, they are very happy together,so I’d like to tell you a little bit about them.
So firstly, as for how I know them, well I basically got to know themwhen I moved into my flat here, because they live just next door to me, sowe often bump into each other, and we’ve now become pretty good friends.
And as for how long they’ve been married, well, I think it’s only been for about two or three years, because they’re both quite young and only in their mid-twenties. Although if I remember correctly, I think one of them told me thatthey were together for quite a few years before they got married, because they met each other at high school, so taking that into account, they’ve actually been together for about ten years.
But anyway, with regard to why I think they’re happily married, well I would say one reason is that, whenever I see them, they always seem to be happy and cheerful. I mean,I’ve never seen them argue or shout at each other before, and they’ve also never said anything bad about each other, apart from when they’re joking of course!
AndI get the impression that they treat each other really well.For example, I’ve noticed that the husband always drives his wife to and from work every day, and she often buys a lot of clothes for him,which I know because on several occasions,I’ve seen him wearing a nice-looking shirt and have asked him where he got it, and every time he told me that his wife got it for him, which is just as well, becauseshe’s got a much better taste in clothes than him!
So yeah,there’s no doubt in my mind that they’re really happy together,and I thinkthey’re actually great role models for how to keep a marriage strong and healthy.
