共读 —— You are a Badass Day 9

Day 9 P59~64 It exists and so does the life you can’t wait to create. You just need to get some clarity first.

1. in a positive, martyr-free way
   martyr 一般会被翻译成烈士，但 martyr 和烈士的含义并不是完全对等的，martyr 也可以是殉教者，而且还有一个意思是 someone who tries hard to get other people’s sympathy by complaining about how hard their life is – used to show disapproval. 这句话里 martyr-free 是后面一个意思。

2. half-assed = A half-assed idea or plan is stupid or has not been considered carefully enough. slang disapproving

3. don’t give a damn 这个表达的同义词很多，don’t give a shit, don’t give a fxxx, 是常听到的两个。

4. hothead = someone who does things or reacts to things quickly and without thinking carefully first
   -head 为后缀的词很多都不是什么好意思。前面作者用过 fathead = a stupid person, an idiot. 其它例子还有 bighead = someone who thinks that they are more important or cleverer than they really are. 生活中常听到的 dickhead 也是骂人蠢的意思，drughead = a drug addict, cokehead = someone who uses cocaine

5. in the restrictive veal pen = in an individual's cube in the feed lot 栏，圈

6. flaccid = weak and not effective, disapproving

7. knock it out of the park = to do something well

8. rack sth up = to gradually get more points, profits, etc.
