对Three Billboards早有耳闻，今日好不容易抽出时间和Alice一起去看，感想颇深。近日来，好片实在太少，难得佳片，不看甚是可惜。
TB并不是阖家欢乐，亦或是炫耀国富力强的电影，这是一部注定在中国市场同票房无缘——当然同时也意味着排片极少——的一部电影，悲剧的外衣下却带着人性的光辉，复仇的压力之下却是爱的升华。
Mildred的仇恨更多来源于她的内疚，这是她的内在动机。与其说是在复仇，我觉得更多是她需要做一些事情，来弥补自己内心的愧疚。当然，虽然母女关系不好，但Mildred对Angela依旧充满爱意，这点毋庸置疑。
Mildred把因自责和对凶手的愤怒全然抛向了警察局，Chief Willoughby首当其冲，成为了她愤怒的对象，也成了她仇恨的对象。然而这并不是全部，真相是Willoughby简直堪称为人典范，人人爱戴。然而M不管那么多，死了人，警察就要负责，如今真凶逍遥法外，未亡人日日悼念，无时无刻不在承受伤痛，其中必定有警方失职！
But facts are facts. Nothing changes the nature of facts. Some cases will never be solved, no matter how hard you try, or how hard you push the police through any means, including the three billboards.
Mildred knows exactly this simple fact, yet as a mother, a guilty mother whose anger took the best of her, she decided to fight on, even the chances are slim. The fight, with more or less vengeance in it, is not only to revenge her “raped while dying” daughter, but to pacify the anger flaming in her guilty heart, or, just to show to herself that she hasn’t quit, the very deeds of which would surely make her more rested. This silent roaring is the force of her CULPABLE herself. Who is CULPABLE? She has an answer which she reluctantly admits.
Willoughby represents everything a human should be. He is the consummation of all human virtues. As the chief of Ebbing town police station, he is naturally the ‘culprit’ of the inability of bringing the raper/murderer into justice. What a simple thought! I can’t help but remembered the famous ‘Monkey trail’, and I am very unsure of myself about whether folks from south America have evolved from the traditional conception of ‘blood of blood’. It may sounds instinctively compelling, but under modern legal framework, criminals’ sentences will only be decided by the court.
No one overruns the law. Feuds could only be solved through justice when it CAN be delivered in a functioning and uncorrupted society. This is the social contract we all have ‘signed’ automatically when we made the first cry of breathing.

Love forgives, and always wins.
I’m just writing rubbish. Anyone dares to draw meaning of any sorts from this passage shall put on 10 pounds weight.
