Scarcity

      Scarcity is the prerequisite of Economics, not a hypothesis. As long as we live in the world, we must face scarcity, which is a basic fact. There are two reasons for scarcity. One is that what you want is also others want. The second is that human’s needs are constantly changing and escalating. Scarcity has a wide range of meanings. Visible matter is scarce, such as mine, wood, fresh water. Invisible resources are also scarce. Such as beautiful scenery and fresh air. Space-time is scarce. For example, the same flight provides the same services, but the gap of price is very large at different points in time. Trust is also scarce, that’s why people who keep their word are respected by many. 

      稀缺是經濟學的前提，並不是假設。只要我們生活在世，就必須要面對稀缺，這是一個基本的事實。引起稀缺有兩個原因，一是你想要別人也想要，而是人的需求不斷變化、升級。稀缺的含義很廣泛。有形的物質是稀缺的，比如礦、木材、純淨水；無形的資源也稀缺，比如美景、新鮮空氣；時空是稀缺的，比如同樣航班的同樣服務在不同時間，價格差別很大；信任也是稀缺的，這就是爲什麽守信之人會得到很多的尊重。
