This part will help you acquire the various skills used in addressing problems and issues, including tips on idenifying and overcoming you personal interllectual weaknesses, as well as techinques for becoming more observant, clarifying issues and conducting inquiry, interpreting evidengce, analyzing other people's views, and making sound judgements.
At the end of each chapter, you will find a number of applications to challenge your critical thinking and provide exercise for your skills.
These applications cover problems and issues both timely and timeless.
Part 4 Some Conetemporary Issues
This part presents additional important issues that continue to occupy the attention of the best thinkers of our time.

很奇怪，这本书竟然没有前言。
不过，既然这个部分在开头位置，那我们索性就叫它前言吧。
这个前言很简洁明了，简单介绍了为什么Critical thinking （姑且就叫批判性思维吧）那么重要，原来是因为无论学业、生活还是事业，要想成功都依赖于一个人解决问题和做决定的能力（ability to solve problems and make decisions)。
书总共分成四个部分。
