1.delve

/delv/ to search for sth inside a bag ,container,etc (在手提包，容器等中）吃、翻找

例：She delved in her handbag for a pen. 她在手提包里面翻找到钢笔。

delve into sth: to try hard to find out more information about sth  探索；探究；查考

例：1. researvh that delves deeply into this issue. 对这个问题的 深入研究。

        2.I  have delved into the nuts and bolts of what they do and how they do it.

2.the nuts and bolts (of sth)

(informal) the basic practical details of a subject or an activity 基本要点

3.octave

the range of musical nots betwwen the first note of  a SCALE and the last one 八度，八度音程

例：Orbision's vocal range spanned three octaves.奥毕森的音域跨越三个八度。

4.prodigy

noun. a young person who is unusually intelligent or skilful for their age （年轻的）天才，奇才，精英，神童

例：a musical prodigy 音乐奇才

5.in retrospect

thinking about a past event or situation, often with a different opinion of it from the one you had at the time 回顾；回想；追溯往事

例：1. In retrospect, I think that I was wrong.回首往事，我觉得当时我错了。

        2. The decision seems extremely odd, in retrospect.回想起来，这个决定显得极其荒谬。

PART2 Thoughts

前言部分就是通过三个小例子，告诉读者天才是通过刻意训练的结果，是通过方法来训练到天才的，坚持就是其中要点之一。

本书还提到了人的潜能，然而有目的的训练能帮助一个尽量挖掘它的潜能。

本书就是帮助如何一步一步走向高峰，但是选择什么样的路还是看你自己。
