每次出远门

妈妈总给我包水饺

回家第一天

妈妈会给我煮面条

“起身饺子落身面”，妈妈说

我只简单地相信

热腾腾的碗里盛着爱

可我一直不明白

为什么出发就要吃饺子

回家就要吃面条

或许，应该反过来

或许，不该反过来

回乡的路拥挤

装满行囊的人

像头上冒热气的饺子

而每次离开

心里的惆怅

面条一样细长

Maybe It Should Be Opposite

Each time I leave home for travel

Mom makes dumplings for me

The first day when I return home

Mom cooks noodles

Dumplings for sending off, noodles for reception, Mom says

I simply believe

There is love in the hot bowls

But I never understand

Why the dumplings are for taking off

And the noodles are for coming back?

Maybe, it should be opposite

Maybe, it should not be opposite

The roads of going home are crowded

The fully packed travellers

Are like steaming hot damplings

And every time they leave

The sorrows in their hearts

Are thin and long like noodles
