我们都知道，人跟其他生物最大的不同就是，人的思考能力是最好的。而在英语中，多用“think”这个词大家都不陌生的词来表达“思考，想”的意思。今天咱们就来看一些关于“think”的英语知识吧。
1、to think on one's feet
首先，当然是题目中出现过的这个“to think on one's feet”啦，你知道它的意思吗？
如果直译的话，它讲的就是指“用脚思考”，但事实肯定不是这样的啊（否则我这还费什么劲卖关子呢，是吧）。其实在英语中，“to think on one's feet”的意思是“形容一个人脑子很快，能迅速做出反应”，是不是出乎你的意料了？
比如一位电台编辑曾用下面的话评价肯尼迪总统，这位编辑说：
I have never seen a public figure quite as good at holding a press conference. he'd call on people around the room, and always think on his feetto answer their questions without hesitating. best of all he had a great sense of humor and usually had the reporters laughing。

2、think piece
第二个是“think piece”，它指的是“能激发读者思考的文章”。piece在这里的意思是一篇为报纸或者杂志写的文章。
例句：
Jane, did you read that think piece in the new york times this morning by that senator from iowa?
Jane，你有没有看今天早上《纽约时报》登的一篇评论？那是爱俄华州的参议员写的。
3、think tank
“think tank”指“研究所”，此处“tank”可不是指“坦克”，更和“水箱”的意思无关。
这里的tank是一个习惯用语，指的是一个有许多专家组成的组织，他们对某些他们感兴趣的问题进行思考，加以研究，然后为制定政策提出建议。
例句：
Bob quit his teaching job and went to work as researcher at a think tank that studies problems of economic development in southeast asia.

4、think of
记起，想起；考虑；想像；关心
例句：

5、think about
考虑
例句：
I still think about him.
我依旧想着他。
6、think over
仔细考虑；重新考虑
例句：
Please think over what I've said.
请仔细考虑我说的话。
7、think aloud
边想边说出，自言自语
例句：
I not only had to think out my transgressions against my friends; I had to speak them aloud.
