⊙ 黑夜慢慢来临
在椭圆形的花园，坐在长木椅上
我与痛苦对称
我同落日没有多余的话可说
月亮不需要等待
自己就会白出来，一树桂花，困在酒里
她不告诉我玉床春色
我却想请清辉，熄灭我肾内的风暴
那边，稍稍遥远的地方
爱情显现如星斗
溪水潺湲，樱花明亮，虫声绽蕊
黑暗深处也有春天
她在夜合欢旁咏诵：“当她沉醉，可以
再灌以蝴蝶之泪"
而我杯子全没，但白昼般明白——
我身在何时何地何为
夜鹊叫了，不似古乐
但我依然沉默，仿佛古宅重重上锁
只是想着：如何将六只蟋蟀
养进一句诗的笼子
⊙ Night Coming Little by Little
In an oval garden, sitting on a long wooden chair,
I am in symmetry with pain,
Wordless with the sunset.
The moon needs no waiting,
It rises up whitely by itself, a tree of fragrans trapped in the wine.
She will not tell me about the jade bed and its amorous atmosphere,
While I want to plead the silver light to quench the storm in my kidney.
Over there, at the place a bit far away,
Love manifests itself like stars.
Streams rippling, cherry flowers shining, worms singing,
There is spring in the depth of darkness.
She is chanting beside the evening Albizzia: “When she is drunk, you may
Feed her with butterfly’s tears.”
I have no cups, but I am as sober as the day.
I know the time, the place and what’s happening.
The night magpie is chirping, but the sound is not that of the ancient music.
I am still caught in silence, like an old house with all doors locked,
Only thinking: How to rear six crickets
In a cage of poetry.

波兰女诗人辛波斯卡，在她诗集的照片下
题有这样两行文字――
“我偏爱写诗的荒谬，胜过不写诗的荒谬。"
噢，直击格言的心
让我在荒谬中清醒！这是天空无云之时

苍白的凋零片刻

⊙ Reading Szymborska
In Polish poetess Szymborska’s poetry anthology, under her photo,
Two lines read:
“I prefer the absurdity of writing poetry to that of not writing poetry.”
Oh, my heart, stricken directly by the maxim,
Wakes me up from the absurd! This is the moment when the sky is cloudless,
This is the moment when marigolds are chaotic,
Pale, and fading.
Suddenly I fall in love with thorns, and the smell of truth,
Especially, that of Szymborska’s
Tough style,
Which smells like commas, like epitaphs.

⊙ My Illness Half Healed Like an Amatory Poem
Take pills with coffee.
How does it feel? Can you, in a limpid bird song,
Drink bitter wormwood soup? When my illness
Is half healed like an amatory poem,
Most words are fully cured.
Tears roll like her fragrant beads of Buddha’s nature.
I, unexpectedly,
Can’t help but sigh.
Dreams come or not come,
It is not important.
Oh, my heart is wrapped in fragrance,
Peach flowers are in my bone seams, and melancholy
Has been cracked three times.

一只鹰在飞

虽然时值黄昏
几乎没有完整的光了
但它的双翅依然尖锐，像两把利刃
剖开峰峦
放出峡谷中，一村

⊙ Once Again the Sky Circling in My Eyes
An eagle is flying.
Once again the sky circles in my eyes.
Although it is dusk,
There is hardly any light left,
Its wings still look sharp, like two sharp blades.
Splitting forests,
It emancipates out of the canyon a village
Of lamps like charcoal fire basins.

华万里，重庆人，中国作协会员，诗作曾获四川省一、二届文学奖，重庆文学奖，2013《星星》年度诗人奖，首届何其芳诗歌奖，刘伯温诗歌奖等。诗作和小传收入200多种选本和辞典。部分诗作被译介到国外。出版诗集《轻轻惊叫》《别碰我的狂澜》《石榴马》《花雀》等多部。参加《诗刊》首届“青春回眸”诗会。散文曾获首届重庆散文奖。
About the author:
Born in Chongqing, Hua Wanli is a member of China Writers Association. He has won many honors such as the first and the second Sichuan Province Literature Awards, Chongqing Literature Awards, 2013 Annual Poet Award of the Star, the first He Qifang Poetry Award, and the first Liu Bowen Poetry Award. His poetry and biography have been recorded in more than 200 kinds of selection anthologies and dictionaries. Some of his poems have been translated and introduced into foreign countries. He has published poetry anthologies such as Exclaiming Gently, Don’t Touch My Roaring Waves, Pomegranate Horse and A Colorful Sparrow. He is the member of the first Youth Glancing Back organized the Poetry Journal. His prose has been honored the first Chongqing Prose Award.

About the translator:
A master of English Linguistics & Literature, Qi Fengyan was born in Kangping, Liaoning province. She is the Vice Director of the Poetry Education Center of the Olympic Cup Contests. She is a member of the Writers' Association of Liaoning Province, a member of Chinese Poetry Society, and a director of Bai Jvyi Poetry Research Society. She is a guest editor of Rendition of International Poetry. She is the chief translator of the International Bilingual Publication Project of Chinese Poetry Series and the Chinese Children’s Poetry Project. She is also the chief translator of the Chinese Poetry. She has won the Second Prize of the 2018 China Prose Annual Conference, and the 2019 Western Prose Association Critic Award. She has published three co-translation works.
