Provide的用法

provide可以与介词with、to和for连用。

with

• 当provide后面跟着间接宾语时，需要使用with：
  Tom's visit to the United States provided him with an opportunity to learn English.
• "provide someone with something"通常意味着给某人想要或需要的某件东西，重点在受物者。

for & to

• 当provide与for连用时表示在未来让某件事发生或让某人得到某件东西：
  Tom will provide for his family while he's away.
• "provide something to or for someone"通常意味着在给某人某物，重点在施物者；
  The restaurant provides free appetizers to all its customers.
  此句中，"free appetizers"是直接宾语，而"customers"是间接宾语。当然这句你也可以说：
  The restaurant provides free appetizers for all its customers.
