Mr Willy Wonka, the confectionery genius whom nobody has seen for the last tenyears, sent out the following notice today:
这里面书里用的是the candy-making genius 两个版本，confectionery指的是甜食，意思是接近的。
I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow five children – just five, mind you, and no more – to visit my factory this year.
这里面出现了allow的用法，以及下文中
they will be allowed to see all the secrets and the magic of my factory.
allow可以用allow doing
She doesn't allow smoking here.
allow 还可以用 allow sb. to do
she doesn't allow us to smoke in the house.
文中第一句是主动，第二句是被动be allowed (passive)
We aren't allowed to smoke here.
Then, at the end of the tour, as a special present,...
at the end (of sth.)=at the time when sth. ends.
eg. at the end of the month, at the end of the match
注意in the end 它表示的是finally, 反义词组是at first

The man’s dotty!疯疯癫癫的，豹豹觉得这类词都是平时很少见但较常用的，比如还有一个fishy可疑的
The whole world will be searching for those Golden Tickets! Everyone will be buying Wonka’s chocolate bars in the hope of finding one!
这里用到了将来时的一个时态will be doing
在语法中will be doing更多的指在将来这个时间会做什么，I will be in the middle of doing sth.或者talk about complete actions in the future(eg. What time will Tom be arriving this Friday?)或者是询问计划(尤其是你带有某种目的)Will you be using your car tomorrow ?-No,do you want to borrow it?
它和will do区别不太大，个人认为更有一种肯定，和一种绘声绘色的感觉。
There isn’t a hope.
hope也是一个可变名词，可以是不可数(希望很大，信心很足)，也可以可数(愿望，意愿)，但实际中区分也是比较模糊的。不要过度纠结。
‘I’m afraid that simply isn’t true,’根本不是那回事，翻译得真好。
