1.Even now, there are still many people mistakenly believe that outstanding academic performances are the only path to a successful life.

2.However, the wisdom how to manage our emotions and conquer the adversities is the key to happiness.

We are living in a fast-paced modern world in which all the sections seem to have integrated into one and the odds for one to interact with those who hail from different countries are bigger. So it is critical for us to have a more cosmopolitan perspective in daily life. In my book, as high school students, we should be aware of the incident happening throughout the world so as to keep abreast of the times. In addition to paying heed to the news, being active in activities of social welfare is crucial as well.

To have a more cosmopolitan perspective and to keep abreast of the times, we should acquire as much knowledge as possible and make reading a practice on a daily basis. We should seize the opportunity to travel around the world, to see and to feel those things different from those of our culture and heartily accept them. Knowing how immense the world is will definitely make us humble and tolerant. Last but not least, we should take active measures to help the people in need. Only when we try to help others can we realize what real problems are, and this is the cornerstone to better know the world.
