留意身边美好事物
I once had a teacher whose husband died suddenly of a heart attack.
我曾经有一位老师，她的丈夫因心脏病突发而去世了。
About a week after his death, she shared some of her thoughts with a classroom of students.
大约在他去世一周后，她和班上学生分享了她的一些想法。
As the late afternoon sunlight shone through the classroom windows and the class was nearly over,
傍晚的阳光透过窗户洒进教室，快要下课了，
she removed a few things aside on the edge of her desk and sat down there.

With a gentle look on her face, she paused and said,

"Before class is over, I'd like to share with all of you a thought that is unrelated to class, but which I feel is very important.

Each of us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves.
我们每个人降临于世都是为了去学习、去分享、去爱、去欣赏和去给予。
None of us knows when this fantastic experience will end. It can be taken away at any moment. So we must make the most out of every single day."
没有人知道这种奇妙的经历会在何时结束。它随时都可能被拿走。所以我们必须过好每一天。”
Her eyes were beginning to water, but she went on, "So I would like you all to make me a promise.
她开始流泪，但她继续说道：“所以我想让你们所有人答应我一件事。
From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to enjoy. It doesn't have to be something you see.
从现在开始，在你们来学校的路上或回家的路上，去发现那些美好事物并学着享受。未必非得是你们能看到的东西。
It could be the smell of freshly baked bread floating out of someone's house, or it could be the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves in the trees…

Please look for these things, and appreciate them, for at anytime they can all be taken away."

The class was completely quiet. We all packed up our books and went out of the room silently.

That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way home from school than usual.

Remember: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
