About learning English (4)

In the end of May 2003, I arrived Auckland and settled in a basement, then bought a bike and started to looking for job. after a month I got my a  job as a kitchen hand in a Chinese restaurant. I will never forget that day, It is just my forty years old birthday when I started my new life in a new country.

I have not been doing physical work before. So I felt  it is very hard for me  standing  and washing heaps dishes for 10 hours every day.

But I told myself I have to insist, I have no choice, I cannot go back.

In this Chinese restaurant, l found some staff whom have been to New Zealand more then ten years, but no English. I knew that working for money only is not my purpose to come here. I have to seek chance to learn English.

在这家中餐馆里，我发现有些员工在新西兰呆了十多年了，却没有英语。我知道只为钱而工作不是我来这里的目的。我得找机会学英语。
