It was a an intensive week. Rehearsal, presentation, a lesson attended by the supervisor, a meeting with her afterwards, a short discussion with her about my plan to develop professionally, which made me excited about what to be done next term but also worried about how I could take care of my family well.
Even though it is working from home mode, there should be boundaries between work and life. After work, all the attention should be diverted to myself and my family. I could read whatever books I want, play games withe the kids, do fun things with them, go to bed early.
Do not wait until all things are done before you enjoy your life. Work can never be finished!
As a warmhearted senior colleague told me: what matters the most is your family because they are the people who will accompany you throughout your life. After retirement, nobody will remember how professionally strong you are. But how strong your kids are can influence the quality of your life profoundly. It is the most important to help your kids to become independent and capable people.
But how? I should consider this question seriously. Consider it a project.
