在澳大利亚的普通西方人，他们在圣诞日通常是这么过的，以下是老师写的：

This year on Christmas day I will spend the morning cooking and preparing food for our family lunch. We will have ham and turkey and vegetables. For dessert, pavlova and Christmas pudding. All the gifts will be under the Christmas tree and after lunch we will open them. It will be a happy day.

但对我来说，圣诞节只是一个有假期的节日，各大商场促销的季节。现在我身在墨尔本，圣诞节是热闹的假期，旅行则机票和住宿费都超贵，还是留在当地划算。我写的圣诞日计划是这样的：

This year on Christmas day I will sleep in until late morning and have a Chinese brunch as “YUN CHA”in the restaurant of city with our family. After the meal, we will take a walk around CBD and go shopping. We will have a Hot Pot dinner at home and we will have lots of meat and vegetables. In the evening, we will have a walk along the Yarra river of Southbank to view the Christmas lights and spring show, enjoying the happiness of the Christmas night with the crowd.
