Believe in the light

“…Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.---John 12:36

We all have the moments when we say, “I think I can do everything. I wish I could.” But God’s will doesn’t require this of us. Those moments are times of deep experience. With this, the truth is brought to life in plain life. Without that superb moment, many people would be on the wheel of daily life, decadent and useless. We should elevate our daily life to the level we experience at higher places in our spiritual lives.

Don’t let the feeling you get on the high ground dissipate like a cloud, and don’t settle for saying, “What a wonderful state of mind!” Move immediately into service. If you don’t do it willingly, do it all the more. If you meet God in prayer, do what He tells you to do immediately. Don’t say, “I’ll do it.” Pull yourself together and shake off your natural inertia. Lazy people always thirst for the moment of pride, total love to talk about how to climb the peak, but we must learn to live in the gray of the mountain as we see it.

Don’t be discouraged. Try again. To burn the plank road, don’t hesitate, willing to stand in front of God and never chop and change. Make clear what you are determined to do according to the light you see on the high mountains.
