But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace. ---Acts 20:24
The meaning of joy is that we can fulfil the purpose of being created and reborn successfully, not because we successfully complete one thing. The Joy of our Lord is to follows the will of Father in heaven and He said,” as my father has sent me, so I have sent you.” Will I receive the ministry from the Lord? If so, I must stay true to my mission and put the value of my life solely in the accomplishment of that mission. Consider when the Lord says to us, “well done, good and faithful servant.” How satisfied we would be! Because we have done what the Lord has sent us to do! We must search for a vocation in life. Spiritually speaking, it means what God has entrusted to us to do. To fulfill the trust, we must walk with the Lord. If we want to know him better, it is not simply as our person savior, as if God said,” I will shew him that he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
“Do you love me?”, then “You feed my sheep.” Ministry is not a choice, but absolute allegiance to the Lord. Be loyal to what we receive when we are closest to God. When we receive a ministry from Jesus, we know that need is not a call, but an opportunity. The call is to be faithful to what we receive in fellowship with the Lord. This is not to say that there are countless ministries to be divided up for us, but that we have to set aside other needs for ministry.
God, I pray that you can continue to give me strength and pure joy. Let my motives and my thoughts be humble, and let me not think myself superior.
