English Learning

To be honest, I haven't learnt English for a long time. It is hard to tell the reason why I never study hard on English as an English major student. I know I am not a good English learner because I only use it when necessary or listen to it while I watch English TV series. There are lots of slangs or fixed expressions I don't know but I don't know why I still stay on the same place. Maybe it's the inertia inside me that makes me feel good about myself. I realized my limitations in the communications with others. Recently I often think about the reason why I cannot enter the advanced level of every language I learn. I observed the books on my shelf and found that I finished most of them but there are always one or two advanced level left of every language. And the grammar books I bought have never been read deeply and throughly. Moreover, translation practice is not enough for me to know the exact use of each word. Practice makes perfect. So I decide to read an article every day to improve my English and Japanese. Oh one more thing, I found something very interesting that I would murmur in mixed foreign languages in the morning while I was not totally awake. My roommates often get confused by my ambiguous and vague expressions. Our teacher once said that if you dream in foreign language it means that you start to have the target language thinking which is beneficial for language learning. I am quite happy about this but not happy with the mixed language thinking. One sentence in two or three languages is sure a big problem for others to understand.
