"Drop dead diva"
This is one of my favorite soup opera since high school. Last week I went back to see this video, I caught up with an idea that if I record the cases inside may help me to improve my English at the same time the logical presentative ability.
Background of the whole season
Deb is a 24 year old model with inspiration, beautiful knee and skim body. She was dead in a traffic crash and return to earth in a wrong body, Jane, who was an excellent lawyer with IQ more than 140. These two women are so different not matter the shape, IQ and characteristic. The new Jane, with old Jane's knowledge and IQ, deal with case in Deb's way brought it dramatic.
Let's soon go back to the case.
1st case Background
Marcus Newsom, the client of Jane in this episode, is suing a medical company Upland Pharmaceuticals. His wife suffered a hallucination after taking their sleeping pill, Zolpidem. She thought she was a bird, tried to fly, fell 20 stories.
Opponent sent a professor of Pharmacology to the court as witness to prove the Zolpidem is a safe and effective sleep aid and also bring the information that the drug is approved by the FDA for over 20 years.
Jane, first, caught the eyes of everybody to the professor's suit: an Armani collezioni, very expensive band for suit, with price over 2000 dollars.
Jane: Sir, do you receive the money from Upland, the defendant?
The professor: I'm on the advisory board. It's a paid position.
Jane: I knew it!(with excited motion and continue)
Zolpidem is Upland's most successful drug, isn't it?
The professor: That is correct.
Jane: And you have incentive to protect the sales of that drug. So you can continues to afford high-end items, such as your suit?

she first let jury start to doubt the word from professor. And she added below word.
Jane: Zolpidem has been linked to sleepwalking, sleep-eating, and even sex while asleep.
The professor: There is a difference between odd behavior and dangerous behavior.
Jane: Are your aware that a New York woman taking Zolpidem opened the door to a stranger and was raped? She didn't recall the attack until morning.
And according to the Sydney Morning Herald, A man jumped to his death two hours after popping a Zolpidem. Are you aware of that?
The professor: Yes.
Very Drama but interesting.

Closing word
Jane: Every minute of every day, Marcus Newsom remembers his life with Emily. She was everything to him, and he was everything to her. People say there five stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Well, Marcus Newsom can't get past his anger. He's angry at Upland Pharmaceuticals(Medical company name), because they ignore evidence that Zolpidem can cause hallucinations with deadly consequences. Why would they do that? Because if they told the truth, if they admitted to the risk, then consumers might think twice before popping their pills. Help Marcus Newsom get past his anger. Assess blame where it belongs. And only then can my client continue to grieve.
