Since the introduction of reform and opening-up four decades ago, China's food output increased from 305 million tonnes to 618 million tonnes, marking a growth of 102.5% which surpassed China's population growth over the same period of time.

China has met its 1.3 billion people's food demand without disrupting the international food market or bringing the threats of price rise and import competition to other developing countries. Instead, its solutions have provided positive spillover effects for these developing countries pursuing food safety and supply.
