The storm finally broke(消停) in the early evening, and Katie opened the kitchen window. The temperature had dropped and the air felt cool and clean. While pockets of(成片) mist rose from the ground, rolling clouds drifted past the moon,ringing light and shadow in equal measures, leaves turned from silver to black and to silver again as they shimmered(发微光，闪闪发光) in the evening breeze.
